A poem I wrote for my wife a couple years ago.

Carol's Christmas

Two nights before Christmas
And I feel like a louse
I still haven’t shopped
For my beloved spouse

I know I should go
But the lines will be long
Whatever I pick though
Is sure to be wrong

Of course I've been told
“Get her just anything”
But I know that it better
Be a rock in a ring

All the good stuff is gone
And it is left up to us
To take what is left
But there is less fuss

Dogone it, says I
What a perilous plight
I gotta get something
So go I into the night

After fighting and brawling
And pushing and shove
I finally found something
Fitting her like a glove

Out of the chaos, debris
And taking my licks
I got not just one present
I got my honey six

Wrapping and wrapping
And tying the bows
Delicately placing them
In neat little rows

The relief that I feel
On my face brightly worn
As I anticipate her love
First thing Christmas morn

It’s the giving that counts
I hear year after year
Someday she’ll appreciate
That six pack of beer

hehee arms,

next to a new iron, what else could a woman wish for? don't tell me you didn't wrap your lips around one of those brews.

my hubby used to try to buy gifts like that. i just kept thwacking him on the nose with a rolled up newspaper until he stopped.

thanks for sharing.

xxm

Oh boy did she!
She was so ungrateful that she didn't even try to enjoy the elixer. I had to force myself to dispose of it so as not to wasste them. Just being a good catholic.

This year, I will get her 1 quick pick lotto's and a scratch off.

lol

And you won't be safe inside either, by the sound of it!

Merry Christmas!
