My blog tour started this week, and already a reader mentioned she is putting my book on her To Read list. Should I comment and simply say, "thank you", "enjoy!", "Hope you like it", etc.? Since writers are not supposed to respond to reviews, how should we respond to anyone saying they are interested in our books? I would think saying a simple thank you is good PR, but I could be wrong.

I don't see the harm in thanking someone for saying they might buy your book. It's a lot different to responding to a review; and on a blog tour you're expected to participate in the comments on those blog posts.

OK, thanks. I just know there's a bit of controversy over how much should an author interact with readers - actual and potential - so I was wondering what was appropriate so I wouldn't do any bad PR on my part.
