Hello - I am looking for insight. Please let me know your thoughts...

I recently nudged one agent who requested my full (at the 3 month mark) and her assistant said "(name of agent) is behind schedule by about a month. Do you wish to remain in the queue?"

Of course I want to remain in the queue.

However, in the past 3+ months, I received feedback/insight that helped me tighten the book even more. Is it OK to try and re-submit / swap out the submission when I respond? Or is that not the right thing to do?

Thanks!

What I would do is say to the assistant, "Yes, I would like to remain in the queue, but may I send an updated version of the manuscript?"

Yep, no harm in asking. Always a good idea to ask first as it is possible that your original version has been copied and sent to more than one person to read and its annoying to have to recopy and resend and then reread... it all depends on how the agency does things.
