I created a new or second blog. It's still new, but I wanted to make sure the words weren't too big and the style was OK. I also wanted advice on the color of the words against the chosen backdrop.

I'm not very computer literate when it comes to blog design, so I chose something simple. Any constructive, non-rude advice is appreciated.

Merry Christmas!

Hello

I'm far from an expert, in fact i've just asked for a review myself, but my thoughts are below :)

- Overall it looks good, i like the background and you can read everything (which is number one importance)

- There are no links to other pages though (like Twitter etc), but i suppose that depends on your own situation, and what you are wanting to use the blog for

- I'd say it needs some heading somewhere directing people to an about you, fave posts, fave links to other bloggers/books/websites

-At present it seems a tad plain with no pictures, creatives or stand out colours. Add some of your personality to it so it jumps off the page and welcomes people in

Overall though very nice, and ticks all the fundamental things in my book. There's my opinion, hopefully it helps a little

Thanks for your feedback. I'm trying to figure out and learn how to add things like links to my FB (though I need to make a different one from my personal one I think), and I don't do Twitter (right now). How do I do that?

I appreciate the feedback, I'll be working on it more this week, including adding more entries with photos.

I agree; it's awfully plain, I don't love that brown color, and there's not enough going on in the sidebars. I also don't love the title. I don't like putting three periods behind sentences, but if you really want to use them, your title only has two.

I could give you more feedback when you have more articles.

Good luck!

Well, not a lot there so far. I would suggest a slightly smaller font and not centering the text.

I love the blog design. The colors are very appealing.

Good job.

Thanks, I changed the design of both my blogs recently. I'm going to be working on adding more content in the next week. One of my "resolutions". Thanks everyone for the feedback!

I like the brown. Looks artistic.

There seems to be a gradient effect that means I can only read the top half of the page because the rest is just too dark.

As well, the font is really distracting. Specialty fonts (including all caps fonts) are best reserved for logos and not blocks of text. Something simple like Veranda would be easier for readers, I think.

I love the "wrapper" design, but agree with Anjasa's comments: the gradient in the text portion makes it impossible to read anything except the top 1/4 of the page. I have to keep scrolling to read it. Also, the font is not a good choice. Small caps are used sparingly and for emphasis, not for the basic text font.

You might try making the text window have a white background, and switch to Times Roman for the font. Otherwise, I do love the overall look.

I agree with the comment above regarding the gradient and the font. The font & the creeping darkness from the bottom of the page make me imagine a scary, big built man chanting the words at me... I do love your background image though. I would suggest going for a plain un-gradiented (I love making up words - sue me) background for the post backgrounds, and a simple font that is definitely not all caps.
