Someone suggested that I try my hand at children's fiction, so I did. What came out, is something that is rather short, but with the right illustrations, could be a pretty good children's book (I think).

However, since it is rather short, how do you present it? With the novels I've written, I know its times new roman, 12 size font ,double spaced, with 1" margins.

Is it any different for children's fiction?

Manuscript formatting is the same, regardless of the length of the work. If a publisher doesn't give specific information about fonts, line spacing and margins, follow Bill Shunn's (http://www.shunn.net/format/) advice.

With children's books, Courier, 12 pt. font, is what most editors like to see. There's a link that I can't find right now where you can download Dark Courier. It reads better.
