Does anyone here know of any decent horror mailing lists that can keep me up-to-date with upcoming horror films and/or DVD releases? I would also be interested in in mailing lists that deal with horror literature or horror culture in general.

My reason for posting this is that I would like to combine my love of horror films with writing reviews. However, I find it hard to keep up with the times as far as new film releases go, and I too much of a cheapskate to subscribe to a magazine. Although I buy and read the odd horror magazine occasionally, I would find e-mail notifications to be more convienient (and cheaper). I check my e-mails on a daily basis, while my magazines tend to be chucked in the corner of my room once I've finished with them. I also don't buy them that often, since I have to order most of the decent ones from abroad.

Thanks.

Hi Pickman. Paula Guran at darkecho.com has a pretty good mailing list. It covers upcoming Horror books and films, and has some other interesting things in it. Chiaroscuro at Chizine.com also has a fairly decent letter.

Hellnotes covers mostly literature, but you get one in your email every week, and it's only $23 for 15 months. Highly recommended.
