You built it so I came. I'm yet another perspiring author trying to learn the trade. I wrote one action/adventure novel, queried, got a couple of nibbles, and then the agents disappeared. Like many first novels, it was good practice and made me join a writers' group.

I've keyboarded my second novel, in the contemporary fantasy genre, and have it out with a few beta readers. I decided to google 'beta readers' and there you were. While skulking around the edges I was impressed by the energy and diversity (there has to be a stronger word) of the group. Mac and others, thanks for being there. I now belong to both a virtual and a physical writers' group.

I've been an aerospace engineer, an accountant, product manager and sales executive, so why not a writer too? My early writings were mostly product design specifications and departmental budgets, which most readers assumed were fictional.

Now, I have to get busy posting. I relish goals.

Ciao college.

AND you've got a sense of humor, which will serve you well as a writer, I think. Welcome aboard! Congrats on finishing your two novels; that's more than a lot of writers can say, whether or not they're actually published. Have fun on the site!

Don't have any idea how aged you are but some of your 'likes' (particularly the last one) on you profile indicate you might find refuge in the Old Farts Bar and Grill (Office Party forum)

Welcome aboard

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Hi there CM, and welcome. I just had a look at your site, and your first book looks a bit like a Clive Cussler to me (I just love those!). Myself, I write adventure/action novels, but in a historical setting.

Nickie,
Thanks for the welcome. I checked out your site as well. I like historical fiction. Wilbur Smith is a favorite. Some of your summaries remind me of him. I notice you aren't doing interviews anymore. I read through several of them with interest.
Regards,
Mike Lance

Thanks for the OFB&G recommendation. I'll check it out. I should fit. I'm almost as old as dirt. He's actually just one month older than I am.
