Forgot to post my intro.
New here to the forums but not to writing. I feel like a bit of an anomaly because I'm an academic and have published a very nerdy and extremely boring book of literary criticism. I won't even bother to tell you the title; you will fall asleep just reading it. I have a couple of academic articles under my belt, too, but I got tired of all of that and decided to write something that I actually would want to read. So, I just finished an UF novel and am querying agents. I also have about 9K of mainstream fiction sitting on my desktop.
I would love to hear from other writers who are published in their fields (like academics, journalists, etc.) and who are struggling to carve a niche for themselves in something fun and fluffy.
This is a great community, and I'm looking forward to being a part of it!
