Hi,

I'm new to freelance writing but I have an idea for an article for More magazine which I think could work. My article would need accompanying photos of the process I want to write about, which leads me to my question....

Are there standard submission requirements for photos that accompany magazine articles? Size, what sort of file it's saved as, etc.?

And, I couldn't find any kind of submission guidelines at all on their website. Anybody know about this (are they in a print copy?)

Thanks for whatever help you can send my way! (I tried searching the AW site but couldn't find what I was looking for....)

Nancy,

If the photo submission reqs. are not on the web site, just submit your photos as JPEG files. If they're interested in your article and want to use your photos, they'll take it from there. All editorial art departments are different.

Good luck, jeff

Generally I agree, however I submitted to a mag last week that - get this, wanted negatives. I assumed they hadn't updated their web site and did not include any pics. But, here's the issue, how does one submit a photo when cameras are digital and submissions are via US mail with required SSAE?
