Howdy y'all. I am new. That's what I'm posting the new people thread! Does this garner me browny points? I hope it does.

Anyhow, I'm a young writer lookin' for a writing community and my good friend dragged me here (and I'm so glad he did). I essentially write really long winded, over blown rough drafts and then bury them under other longer winded and more over blown rough drafts. But I'm trying to get it together and put all my material to use in a fiction novel! I'm really excited to post and make friends (ahem, "contacts") and essentially work on my stories/prose.

Jaxymack, who is sitting right next to me, tells me I should say that I love jaxymack. Now that wasn't contrived, was it? Nope. Not at all.

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Welcome MoxieMoth! Good luck with those long-winded rough drafts. As many people will tell you around here, a writer is really a reviser. You write it, read it, have some one else read it, revise, revise, revise, read again, have someone else read again, revise revise, revise. So over blown rough drafts are okay, just get back and work on them some more!
