Hi, My name is Dallas (My actual name) and I got news of this site in an article I read on query letters. I got into writing when my 7th grade teacher had us all write a novel for nanowrimo month. Since then i've been a die hard writer and I love it.

I am currently thinking about publishing a novel, and continuing to get published. It would be cool if any of you have any good advice to help me out. I write only non-fiction for mostly teens and young adults. Lots of paranormal stuff, fantasy, romance, and a little horror. Thanks!
Also, feel free to message me!

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Easy rule of thumb when it comes to publishing: money flows to the writer. We sometimes call it Yog's Law.

Reputable agents and publishers don't charge.

Scammers, on the other hand, will find all sorts of things to charge you for, or else they'll publish you "for free" and make their money by charging you outrageous prices for your own books.

Beware! In fact, check the Bewares, Recommendations, and Background Check forum before signing with anyone.

And welcome. :)

Arn't teachers great? I started writing little stories in grade 3, when my teacher said to write something, and my friend dared me to write a story called 'the smiling flower'. I don't remember how that turned out though.
lol. Anywho...
