Intro - hoping to post some crime stories, narrative poems and a bit of Latin translation

JBwell

Hi All,

I'm a beginning writer with aspirations to be published. So far I have a very small portfolio but I am going to try and build it up quickly. My interests are crime fiction, narrative poetry and Latin translation. I have one (crime) short story in draft which I hope to post on here. I have also translated a couple of poems by Horace and written a beginner's guide/commentary to one of them. Next up will be a short narrative poem - probably also crime.

Looking forward to comments and to joining in the community.

Regards,

James

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Welcome to AW. Latin is pretty cool. I've been interested to hear what Horace had to say, ever since an anonymous Victorian satirist referred to the writings of Pre-Raphaelite William Morris as "a sort of Chaucer minus Horace."
