I have two:

Eclectic Thoughts (http://collectonian.livejournal.com/) - spanning back through 1995, pretty much anything and everything about my life. Mostly just personal updates of life, work, finances, etc, other random stuff, occasional memes, and all of my NaNos. Some stuff is friend locked, but lot is open as well.

Animania (http://animania.eclectic-world.com) - my anime/manga review blog, though I've been rather lax in posting the last few months; in addition to the reviews, sometimes talk news and post about Japanese culture

My blog? What's it about? Beats the heck out of me. I don't write about writing I don't write about gardening or politics. I don't even write about my life. I started it a few months ago by accident and I am lucky enough that people take the time to visit and read. I love the comments that they leave so I keep blogging even though I never know what I'm going to say. Maybe they just show up to find out what twisted turns I'm going to take next. :D

Here is my blog. It's pretty plain, but I try to spice it up with pictures that I take myself of interesting objects. I write updates on my writing projects, post comments on articles and books I've read, and much more.
As you will see, I am pretty new at this.

Oooh, nifty. Lotsa blogs to start checking out over the holiday!

My blog is full of random musings about the writing process, my writing/book progress, and stuff like cupcakes (http://jesshaines.com/blog/2009/10/20/halloween-cupcakes/) and free hugs (http://jesshaines.com/blog/2009/07/16/free-hugs/). :D

A Bookseller Recommends (http://abooksellerblog.blogspot.com) features books as recommended by a real-live bookseller (me). Books have a nice wide range as well, so you're sure to find something. Started in August. Some books also include detailed reviews at Epinions.com

Alternative Ramblings (http://altrambles.blogspot.com) was my first blog ever, and always dedicated to writing and (occasionally) books. Thoughts vary from plot devices to the strange things that agents do.

Comments are always welcome!!

I've found my quest to unearth legitimate agents who represent fantasy to be very time-consuming. I started a blog to catalog and share my findings for other aspiring fantasy writers:

I'll be adding to it as I go. I hope its useful for other writers. :)

As a fantasy author, I'll be checking yours out.

My blog (http://fictionmagoria.wordpress.com/), also in my sig, is about creative writing, usually with a focus on sci-fi and fantasy but I'll write about anything from inspiration to MFA programs to publishing news. The posts usually address something that is troubling me in my own writing at the time (or even working out for me, but that happens with less frequency).

Just found this thread. For some reason it eluded me though I've been on AW awhile.

I started a website and writing blog (http://andrewjpeterswrites.com) in the fall. Just about my projects, my progress, and random literary thoughts. I write contemporary, young adult and speculative fiction mainly with an LGBT-slant.

Howdy. I'm fairly new to AW and I usually lurk in the Novels forum. I write adult fiction, usually speculative fiction, sf, fantasy, and horror.

I started a blog called The Circumstances at the End (http://hoehnen.blogspot.com). So far it's basically all process stuff. I hope to develop it with reflections on writing, novel ideas, poems, digital dls, excerpts, brainstorms, personal escapades, the publishing process, and a bunch more.

It's linked in my sig too!

Hi, my blog "The word is my oyster" is really about the craft of writing, with a dash (in the future) about poetry and non-fiction. From brainstorming on through the query process and hopefully onward. Especially for people who pretend to have normal lives that are being taken over by the obsession of writing.

I have two blogs. I've been fairly quiet with them, but I'm hoping to be more active in the near future. No, I am making it a priority to me more vocal.

I have a livejournal account: http://kltownsend.livejournal.com/

And there's blogger/blogspot: http://kltownsend.blogspot.com/

Both are geared in some way or another towards writing and contemporary fantasy/urban fantasy.

My husband and I have been blogging at The Sharp Angle (http://www.lydiasharp.blogspot.com) since July 2009. We offer writerly tips and advice, review novels and movies, and discuss the (married) writing life. And of course, there's always the occasional rant. ;)

My blog is about a lot of things but it's core concept and raison d'être is to publish a story.

As a challenge I set myself to, I started a story in January. At a rhythm of 1,000 words a week (soon to be officially amended to 1,000 words twice a week), I write the adventures of Cassidy Parker, agent at the Psychic Service of Investigation. By the end of the year, I will thus have a full-fledged novel.

If you are only interested by the story - which doesn't have a title yet - you can find the compilation of its chapters here (http://thewriteaholicblog.wordpress.com/2010-story/).
I also share my writing process (for linear medias and video games). It not regular publication but they are all compiled here (http://thewriteaholicblog.wordpress.com/how-i-write/).

The link to the home page is in my signature. Besides the two aforementioned subject, I sometimes publish short stories or just ramble on about my life. ;)

I use the blog twofold: I write about my series progress and jazz. Odd correlation, considering I'm a sci-fi author, but a lot of my best dialogue was written at jazz shows (yes, I come to music with a notepad for sudden inspiration purposes). I keep the blog to inspire new authors and to encourage people to explore the musicians I feature. It'll also soon be expanded to show my photography as well.

04-22-2010, 11:55 PM
My blog papoe is about my life as a wife and mother of two young girls. I rant and write about the daily struggles of managing my daughter's curly hair (she's half-black and I'm a very very white mom), as well as noting the small milestones of my youngest, who was born three months premature.

I am also slowly (SLOWLY) working on a novel, that I hope to bring to some sort of complete draft in the next year. It will happen, if I ever hope to complete my MFA.

Papoe is also the name of my daughter's favorite game: peek-a-boo.

I've never done anything like this before, so I'm holding my nose and jumping in with both feet--here goes!

http://jennifermccall.blogspot.com

The idea is simple--I've written a lot of stuff that I love and enjoyed doing and learned from, but, for one reason or another, wasn't particularly marketable. I want to give it away--I want it to be copied, distributed, shared, sent around, whatever. I don't want it published under anyone else's name, but virtually anything else is cool with me.

I plan on giving the stuff away in installments, interspersed with notes from me--if I'm giving away my RPG, which I plan to do, the notes will be about RPG's...how to play them, RPG stories, and things I learned from the experience of creating one. If it's a short, I might talk about what made it less than marketable or what I learned from it. If it's something that I had a bad publishing experience with, I might mention what sort of red flags tipped me off. (I won't mention names, and all contracts on the works were ultimately cancelled.)

When I am once again querying, I'll be talking about that. And posting stuff that I'm not querying.

Anyway, I would love to have some people read my stuff! First story bits will be up in two days. :)

My blog, Impudent Hatchlings, is here: www.hillaryjacques.blogspot.com

The Hatchlings are emerging and newborn thoughts and observations related to (in no particular order): writing, parenting, the wide world of sport, movies, music and home improvements. And yes, they are sometimes impudent.

Book reviews will begin at the end of my current read. Titles will primarily be fantasy, science fiction and literary fiction. There may be some romance or mystery, particularly if I'm on vacation.

Would love to see you there!

I've had mine up for two months now, and I have some regular readers. I get anywhere from five to twenty hits a day, double that when i participate in the AW Blog Chains.
I mostly ramble about writing and the fantasy and steampunk genres. I do occasional book reviews, and have a regular feature: an interactive lesson on Fantasy World building. It's actually pretty fun. So far we have an eastern-european faerie tale with trolls and witches and an expansive, totalitarian empire ruled by an immortal. And a farm-boy named Wesley.

I have two blogs - both are in my signature.

One is a more writerly blog, but it'll also extend to the rest of my life at times. I haven't had the blog that long, but I have some prompts, writerly thoughts and other stuff there. I'm still developing it.

The other blog is based on my life as a stepmom. Well, technically, I'm not a stepmom until July 1. I realized there is a lot of support out there for stepmoms like me, especially stepmoms who have to deal with their husband's psycho ex-wife. Which is helpful, though anyone is welcome!

I turned my old daily writing exercise into a blog at nonexistentbooks.wordpress.org.

Essentially, I write out a conversation, scene, or description and dress it up like it's a fragment of a larger work. More often than not, it gets the wheels turning and before I'm done a skeletal plot will have emerged, ready for development into a full story!

Surprisingly enough, my blog doesn't discuss writing or being a writer and only rarely mentions books. Instead, "Living Donors are People Too" focuses on the experience of being a living donor. Not MY experience, but the systemic neglect of living donors at the hand of the medical industry, the ambivalence of the federal agencies in charge of the US transplant system (UNOS, OPTN, Dept of Health, HRSA, ACOT, etc), and analysis of news stories and published research articles.

Sounds like a conspiracy theory, right? Something Kafka or Orwell would write. Well, I thought so too, until I ended up in the middle of it. Since starting the website and the blog, I've heard from living donors all over the world telling me their stories. None of them end with the phrase "they lived happily ever after"

I'd like to exchange links with other blogs or websites that deal with bioethics and related topics, so if contact me if you're interested.

(see my signature for the link; website too).

My blog started out as me exploring stuff that sucks int he big bad writing world.

Somehow it morphed into why I suck as a writer. Two words; attention span.

So it has a lot of funny stupid little posts that have very little to do with people writing, and more about how wonderful I am at not writing. It's still pretty new though.

Queen Amanizar inherits a crumbling empire ringed with encroaching enemies led by her deposed older brother. The only way she can save her people is to find the long-lost Heart of the Tengeri, a fabled talisman which embodies the strength and power of the empire. With no magical gifts of her own, Amanizar must rely upon her wits and courage to defeat her brother and restore peace to her people. Along the way Amanizar's brother betrays one of his own allies, a handsome foreign prince who becomes enthralled with the beautiful young queen.

Well, I finally decided to take the plunge and start a blog. I did have a small message board at one time that gave me a lot of pleasure; I deleted it because there wasn't much interest but I find I do miss it. Perhaps a blog will do the same for me.

Although, as I mention in my last post on the blog, one of the main reasons is to post a few pictures of the scarves and such I do for sale. It's so much easier to just direct people to the blog than carry around a photo portfolio.

I've only just started so there's only three posts and one picture up so far. Nothing about writing as yet (my muse deserted me and is off playing hockey somewhere) but I do have a few books I'll be mentioning and recommending, as well as steering any new or aspiring writers over here. If my muse ever returns, that'll be fodder for new posts as well.

Hmm... being deserted by a muse might be an interesting post, too.

Anyway, many thanks to everyone in the "I've just started" sticky thread. I read through the whole thing before starting and it helped a great deal. If anyone wants to look at a carousel horse scarf, by all means, visit and comment.

Chapter 3 of Heart of the Tengeri is up on my blog.

http://coganbooks.blogspot.com/
She's so small, he thought. And only eighteen years old. How difficult to think of her as a queen! She'd hardly grown since her father died.

"I'm sorry, Majesty," said Bokadan. "But if you go looking for the Heart yourself the first Jakaeli you meet will skewer you like a toad. Let me go in your place." Amanizar was dressed in a soldier's tunic and leggings, embroidered in gold and red threads such as a soldier would never wear. The broadsword she wielded, though, was as heavy as any soldier could wish for.

They'd only been dueling for a few minutes and already he could see her shoulders sagging. Bokadan easily parried every stroke. She could sometimes best him with a dueling saber, but with broadswords he only had to wait until she could no longer lift the sword--not very long. She often complained about having to work with such a heavy weapon, but she bowed to his wisdom. Especially today. Everything was different now that the crown was on her head. He could see it in the way she spoke, in the way she held herself.

"I'll seek the Heart myself!" she growled at him. A delightful puppy growl. “You've been listening to Salagon too much.” She lunged and began mounting a credible attack.

"He's correct in this, my Queen!"

"He is not!" The vehemence of her words seemed to lend strength to her arms and Bokadan was forced to step back. He was proud of that step. Her eyes blazed with ferocity. "The Heart will come to me--only to me!" He took another step back, more from the threat of that look than the threat of her sword.

Comics! Artwork! Madness!

A blog which began as a place to archive my old comics and sketches on line so people could keep up when I left Facebook. I never did end up leaving Facebook, but the blog continued anyhow.

Includes musings on Victorian gynecology, Jack the Ripper theories, Lovecraftian Fishmen, racy ideas about centaurs, the Necronomicon, and, of course, Beowulvarine:

I have a new blog-http://angiomassuck.blogspot.com

It's not a blog about writing or my writing-it's a blog where I try to use my writing to make a difference for my son and those with cavernous angiomas. :) The goal is to provide info and links to resources for those interested, but more importantly, I try to share our stories and laughs and every day stuff.

The thing is, no one knows about CCMs, and families dealing with them feel alone. They're not. So, this blog is me yelling out to them. :)

And someday hopefully I will get a writing based blog up and running.

I have two blogs (big perk of unemployment!):

- Will Write for Beer (http://writesforbeer.wordpress.com), where I review all the beer I can find. I've reviewed everything from Imperial IPAs to Michelob Ultra Raspberry Pomegranate, and will continue to review any and everybeer that crosses my path. I also throw in the occasional little bit of beer learnings, a few bar reviews, etc.

- Procrastination Party of One (http://procrastinationpartyofone.wordpress.com) is my "ADHD" blog - I don't use it to talk about having ADHD (which I do have) but to try and get some of the randomness in my head out onto a screen somewhere so that it will leave me alone long enough to get something done. It's evolving as it goes and includes everything from timewasting games to recipes to a dream I had where I tried to pay rent by mailing a realtor a gerbil.

My review blog ranking pretty much anything I feel like but mostly it's movies and TV. But I mix it up from time to time. A new post comes out every Wednesday and Saturday.

It's called "The Rankatron". (http://rankatron.wordpress.com/) This links to the home page.

Lately, I've been undergoing a large project reviewing the top 28 movies of all time under a series of posts called "The Ultimate Rankatron". (http://rankatron.wordpress.com/2010/09/04/the-ultimate-rankatron/)Why 28? Because the scoring system I used to create the list of movies had some ties. Go figure.

Enjoy!

Here's my blog-

http://talkinganimaladdicts.blogspot.com

This is actually my second blog, but crazy sleep patterns and other assorted issues kept me from getting my first attempt from going anywhere.

Also, my topics were too broad and didn't have a tighter focus. I did that with this blog that I started last December.

Keep in mind this is still new and I haven't updated it with new topics much since my wrting life has had many snags, heartbreak, and tears along the way. I recently came back to the blog after another emotional setback regarding my writing, and while I'm still not at 100% yet, I'm out of the fatal zone, as far as my love of writing goes.

I have a big contest going on and you can win some fab prizes!

But don't take my word for it, see them for yourself.

Hope to see some of you AWers comment in the future.

I hope some of you will find it entertaining and informative.

"Stern Thoughts," is twisted, sometimes "R" rated, humor. It's written by the protagonist of the fictional, farcical autobiography I wrote, Oh No Richard! (The Life and Unfortunate Times of Richard Stern). The blog covers Richard's further daily misadventures after the years covered by the book. The blog assumes no prior reading of the book (no surprise, since I haven't tried to publish yet).

http://www.the4threalm.com isn't so much a blog as it is a content/writing/blog/etc site that's maintained by about 5 different authors (including myself). It's kind of a strength-in-numbers approach, seeing as how none of us would really blog consistently enough by ourselves to warrant having regular readers.

Plus, we put out new content or stories every week, usually a new chapter in a long running story (of which we have several) or new short stories. We've been up almost a year now, and we've had new content up almost every single week during that run.

We're all new writers looking to refine our craft and build up some readership, and we're always looking for new contributors who want to help out in that endeavor. Plus, we have a small editing/critique section in our editing forum.

Come on by!

Well, my blog deals with writing and it focuses on helping others with things I wished I had found compiled in a blog when I first started writing. From the basic stuff like formatting to the stuff writers ask all the time but can't seem to grasp the concept of like showing versus telling. I just started but eventually hope to have a bunch of post and resources on every writing project under the sun. Check it out.

http://lurkingmusings.wordpress.com/ is my blog (which is also in my sig file so this link is a little superfluos but nevermind...). It's new and shiny still and I am mainly talking about newwriteritis at the moment.

Since the readership is slowly growing I may be up for some guest bloggers soon.

Okay, so I gave in and finally created a blog. I try to post at least 2-3 times a week, depending on RL of course :) Mainly it is stuff about my books, guest posts, interviews and other writerly things as I'm able to get around to it. You can see it at www.rgporter.blogspot.com (http://www.rgporter.blogspot.com)

I decided it's silly for authors to blog about writing as a publicity measure. The audience for a blog about writing is other writers, which makes it great for networking, but useless for attracting paying readers. Agent/editor/publishers or writing teachers would benefit, but not your average working author.

So I started my blog, The Story Hunter (http://thestoryhunter.wordpress.com/), as a place to publicize my thoughts and discoveries and ideas about Story, not just the writing process. I post story ideas I've come up with but probably won't ever get around to, inspiring story-related quotes, essays about stories and the purpose of story, and links to stories I've come across that blow me away.

Check it out and let me know if you think it's a crazy idea. I'm un-published and just started this as a hobby and a social investment for the future where I might be published and want an online audience.

One of my good friends is in the process of setting up his own online editing service, and he's doing a giveaway on my blog right now where he will give a free 25-page critique to the first five people who email him. (He's AMAZING. Seriously, if you are at all shaky about your beginning, I would HIGHLY recommend it. My novel wouldn't exist without him.)

I'm in the process of changing my blog View of Sue (http://viewofsue.blogspot.com/) from an entertainment blog into a writers blog.
I plan to post prompts, blog chain assignments and just some of my writing.
During this transition I'm making a new blog roll, if anyone is interested in adding a link just leave a message on this thread and your link.

Something like:

I've been blogging (http://coldfirewriter.wordpress.com) for nearly two years. Most of my posts are related to writing with some randomness thrown in. I like to share what I learn about writing, publishing and connecting with readers and writers online. Some of my older posts are a little... odd, so dive into the archives at your own peril. However, my more recent posts are delightfully well-adjusted and checked for signs of accidental demon summonings before allowed into the world.

Now that I have a good proxy server, I'm into blogging in a big way.
In the last 2 weeks or so, I've got 4 blogs up, the newest one from today, and over 34 posts in total.

Let's Get Happy is a motivational blog on happiness.
Living and Working in China is about working and living in China.

Speaking in Public is a how-to on speaking in public.

And Welcome to Nanjing, is my newest one and I'm still working the bugs out, but its a travel blog for Nanjing and the surrounding area.

Soon I'm going to be selling useful e-books for most of them, as soon as I've got a small audience.

It's not really my type of blog Jennifer, so take this with a grain of salt.
It's not bad, but you might want to put in some things about how you got published in the magazine, how you do you're writing and things like that, as well as the sonnets and things.
This will help bring in a more diversified group of readers.
On the plus side, the pics are gorgeous, keep that up and you'll have people looking at it just for that.

Hi,

I have a writer's blog called Jhakka's Perch which you can find at http://jhakkasperch.wordpress.com/ (link also in my sig).

I'm brand new to blogging but I decided I would give it a go. I'm finding it fun and actually quite motivational, so as much as if it would be great if loads of other people were to read it, it's worth it anyway because it's been really helpful to me. Feel free to read and hopefully enjoy!

I have two (gasp).

In Case of Survival (http://incaseofsurvival.com/): A humorous post apocalyptic lifestyle blog. All three writers worry about the apocalypse to the widest extent. Includes advice of fashion, dating and child rearing post apocalypse, and reviews of post apocalyptic media.

Dusk: Origins (http://duskorigins.blogspot.com/). Collaborative fiction serial. Post apocalyptic story following four characters. Each writer controls a characters POV and has 800 words to continue the story. Kind of pulpy and fun. Updates Sundays.

But i figure i might as well post it, and who knows, maybe it will help somebody one day

My blog is a typical, track-my-journey-as-an-aspiring-author site where I talk about experiences I've had at conferences, with agents and authors, at critique groups, etc.

teralynpilgrim.blogspot.com (http://teralynpilgrim.blogspot.com/)

Currently, two agents are reading my book and I could hear back from them any day now.

I also share general writing advice, tell funny stories about once a week, and review books.

My blog is fattening and unhealthy.

It deals with The Wrong Sword and with history, my other books and projects, various assorted asnides, and, of course, pizza.

Oh, and lists. Hundreds and hundreds of lists! (Disclaimer: Presence of lists not guaranteed. Number of lists is not guaranteed to be over 100. Your definition of the word "list" may vary from that of the author. Offer void where prohibited by law.)

The Engine Room (http://www.samuelmae.info/engineroom/) is your typical writer's blog--updates on projects, musings about writing processes, sales announcements, the occasional rant. I was publishing a weekly speculative fiction market newsletter last year, but that fell by the wayside when i got busy with the zine.

Anyhoo, i'm hoping to blog more this year (the blog chains we're having over in W1S1 should help with that). I'm also planning on giving the blog a general overhaul. I likes teh shiny.

My new blog Tanner Reviews the World (http://reviewstheworld.blogspot.com/) is a blog were there isn't anything I won't review. Here's my top page description:

Here's how this is going to work. I'm going to watch, read, eat or do something. Then I'm going to tell you what I think about it. What I review may range from a Movie from the Fifties I've never seen, the latest hot band on the radio or even the latest Nostalgia Critic. Yes, a review on a review. I went there. You're job is to read and enjoy my snarky-ass comments. Don't like what I say? I don't care. I like what I like. Now shut up, and enjoy the snow.

Hi All,

I wanted to announce the launch of a group blog that I and a couple dozen other authors have put together to chronicle our the labor and delivery of our first books. Appropriately enough, it's called "Book Pregnant." We will cover the entire process, from finding an agent, to signing a contract, to receiving galleys, blurbs, ARCs, etc., etc., etc. Individually we don't know much but as group we've learned a lot.

We are a mix of young and old authors, writing in genres ranging from YA, to chick lit, to historicals, to memoirs, to mysteries. Some of us are going to become quite famous (not me, sadly), others are not. We first came together on Facebook, but decided to expand our circle to the blogosphere. If you're interested,we can be found at: http://bookpregnant.blogspot.com/.

We hope to see you there!

I just started a blog. I've tried and failed to keep one rolling a few times over the years, mainly because I wasn't able to stick to a theme. Now I've decided "to hell with themes and topics," and I'm just going to write.

There will probably lots of ramblings on writing, but also whatever else is rolling around in my noggin, from books to video games.

I'm running a site/forum for the Mid-Ohio area called The Mid-Ohio Speakeasy (http://www.midohiospeakeasy.com). It's a general interest forum. I do articles on the front page, usually about local/Ohio stuff.

If there's anyone interested in writing weekly front page articles or maybe some one-offs AND you live in the Mid-Ohio area, I'd love to hear from you.

The site's front page is currently averaging 1,500 to 2,000 visits a month, and the forums see more activity with 2,500 to 3,000 visits per month. About 95% of all traffic comes directly from within Ohio.
