The book I bought most recently was Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnsonas a birthday gift. What I bought most recently for myself was Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, followed by Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngary and yesterday I went to library and got Hero-Type by Barry Lyga.
I've read them all by now and they're all amazing, my favorite definitely being Fight Club.
I had a splurge on books lately (birthday cash), so there are many. Highlights include Brent Weeks' Night Angel trilogy, Scott Lynch's Lies of Locke Lamora and Red Seas Under Red Skies, Gauntlgrym by RA Salvatore, Kevin Hearne's Hounded, Hexed, and the pre-order for Hammered, Grammar Girl's Quick 'n Dirty Tips, and Satan Loves You by Grady Hendrix, which I bought based on the name and sample (he's on AW somewhere, which is how I found it). :)
As well as that, I put a call out for UF recommendations, and have about a dozen Kindle samples to get through, on top of the ones I already had. ;)
YAY for books! :D

Just bought and read Mechanique: (http://www.circus-tresaulti.com/) A Tale of the Circus Trisaulti, by Genevieve Valentine. A dark, post-apocalyptic, steam-punky, quirky tale. It was an interesting ride.

The only book I've bought recently is Lilith's Brood by Octavia Butler for the Sci-Fi June book of the month.... but I've been so busy this month I haven't had much time for reading unfortunately.
Haven't even bought any ebooks just cause I don't have the time. Hoping that changes soon.
From Half-Price, I have People of Sparks and What I Saw and How I Lied. My brother also just gave me The Alchemyst because he's done reading it and is too lazy to find places to put his books anyplace, so he gives them away. His loss. :)

I just bought a photography book, it's called Storm Chaser: A Photographer's Journey by Jim Reed. It's for my boyfriend who is really into storm chasing and extreme weather, so I'm hopeful he'll love it.
I can't think of any novels I've bought in the last few months, I've been using my local library lately instead. What I have bought though, are books to help me learn French.

Sequential Art Vol 3, Day of the Denizens by Philip M Jackson. It's a compilation of web comics Mr Jackson draws. It's the best thing in comics (well, Pearls Before Swine could just as easily claim that title)

A few days ago I got Shadow of the Hegemon by Orson Scott Card. When I was reading it, I noticed something interesting =) His Empire series is essentially Ender's Shadow series if the protagonists were adults rather than genius children.

Yesterday I found an awesome used book store in a nearby town, and found some other books at a thrift store. Purchased Hollywood Nocturnes by James Ellroy, Our Game by John le Carre, and Lord of the Flies, which I have never read for some reason.

I hate buying/reading used books. It really gripes me out, I think of all those sweaty hands that have held the book, and the stain that looks like coffee, could be a number of other thing...I'm a little bit anal, I never read library books and only buy new and un-used books.
I recently bought JR Ward's Lover Unleashed in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I didn't buy it when it first came out because I was boycotting it. I didnt like the characters in this one. The FMC went from hardcore and dominant in previous books to aristocratic and subtle in this book. It just didnt feel consistant to me. It's my favourote series, but was my least favourote book within it.
I only bought it and read it 1) because i dont feel right not having a whole series in my book case. and 2) Ward is bringing out a new book next year, so thought I had better read this last one so Iknow where I'm at for the next book - which is of one of my favorite characters.
I also have on order the whole Wicca/Sweep (depending where in the world you are) series by Cate Teirnan. I read these books alot when i was a teenager, and although they aren't in my genre of choice any more, they bring back alot of good memories. If me eldest child was a girl he was going to be named Morgan - After the FMC.

I just bought Simon Scarrow's Praetorian. Just because my new WIP is called The Praetorian and want to make sure it's nothing like mine. Not too worried, different Emperor's and mine is focusing on early Christianity.
