In my WIP, one of the characters is British and calls another character, an American, a "yank." Do I capitalize yank or not? A trivial thing but it's bugging me, lol.

I would capitalize it, unless of course the Brit is referring to one of the American's proclivites.

Lol, yeah, capital:

he gave it a Yank (real bad UK writing, but it still sez: he gave it an american)
he gave it a yank (he gave it a pull)

It's wartime slang, kept going by the war movies in the fifties and sixties, but I don't think it's used as much as it was.
