Hello everyone! I'm so glad to be able to take part in this amazing community of writers. I've been lurking for a while, and aside from being informative, you guys are just so entertaining! So I had to join... and have one more online thing to distract me from my writing. You know how that goes.
I'm new to the Water Cooler, but not to writing. Sullivan Lee is my pseudonym. Under my real name I write children's books -- MG fantasy and YA historicals. I have one book out, and four more under contract, coming out in the next couple of years.
So though Sully is a self-published debut author, her alter ego has a bit more experience. Just so you know where I'm coming from, in case I spout opinions. Not that I know anything, because really, the longer I'm in this business, the more I'm convinced there are no rules, no certainties, no absolutes (except the one right here!) and no one really knows anything for sure.
Oh, and I don't mean to be devious by not telling you my real name. This is a sort of compromise agreement with my agent, editors and assorted other powers that be. Me, I'd be happy writing MG and crime stories and even erotica under my real name -- I'm proud of all my writing -- but the powers that be would get angry, and I can see how it might be bad for business all around. So though I'm not keeping it a deep dark secret, I'm not exactly shouting it, either. Yet. Really, the names are so close you can probably find out easily enough.
I can't wait to get to know all of you better!
