Hi

I'm new here and I have been writing freelance for a couple of months. I have been writing content for a couple of websites, but it is not quite enough work to keep me ticking over. Can anyone recommend any sites that pay fairly decently either per word or per article. I know it is not ideal, but so far it has been a great starting point for me.

I am UK based.

Thanks in advance

Catherine

What do you consider to be decent pay?
Most of the places that are relatively easy to get into without a lot of experience don't pay very well... generally, I think, to make decent money, you need to build up personal clients, perhaps through a freelance bidding site, or through advertising.

I haven't done that myself, although I know others here have.
I have worked for websites like Brighthub, Suite101, Internet Brands and so forth. Some of them pay per article, some give you a percentage of advertising revenue. If you are a beginner, they can be a good step up, but you'll never make a fortune on them.
I have a page with more websites like them here.
It is woefully out of date at the moment, but it might help.

Good luck!

Just a suggestion if you're not already working with them - content authority, demand studios and constant content. What I like about constant content is that you can write your own stuff and then see if someone wants to buy it off you. At least you get to write what you want :)
