hmmmm....here?!
Hello all,

I've been away from my writing so long I'm not sure how to introduce myself. I've been concentrating on academic writing to get through grad school, I still have that project to finish…

I want to get back into writing so I began looking for communities to inspire, challenge, and inform me. Here I am.

Current writing projects: writing my MA project on creativity and seeing where that NaNoWriMo story takes me.

Current interests: learning more about good erotica writing and writing in general. And of course, writing, writing, and writing.

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

Thanks all.

I've been poking about in the corners and closets--some of those I slammed shut before anything escaped, I hope... ;)

For the mods, I read the newbie guide before joining.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Hi Rawiya and welcome! I came to this site for the same thing - found it while on bed rest at the end of pregnancy and now getting on when possible just to start thinking "writerly" again.

Writing is a state of mind, isn't it? ;)

It's nice to read about what POV to use; the problems in writing from 1st person rather than critiquing it or looking for scholarly motifs; or getting elbows deep into something by trying to write a 1st person piece. It's all about practice here and am I out of practice! :D

Vampyre Princess, please you'll give yourself a headache that way. How about this one? :Hammer: Fewer headaches :evil

I have permanent headaches. ;) They are two cats, a rat, a little brother, procrastination, and two dozen sophomores who can't keep from cracking up every time they read cuss words written by Shakespeare aloud in my English class. :D
I do a lot of headbanging. :tongue

Welcome to the party, Rawiya! Try the punch.

To answer your question, you introduce yourself by introducing yourself. Ain't no big thang. We're all friends here. ;-) Speaking of which, you'll not find a better writing community than this one, I'll wager. Don't forget to balance out that writing, writing, writing with reading, reading, reading, okay? Es muy importante!

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

After reading that list, I can understand the headaches.

You teach sophmore English? You are a brave soul!!

Keep a pillow handy to insert between head and wall once in a while though. :)

I finished my BA in 2007, it's in English... trust me, I've read lots. I think the "record" was seven novels in 16 weeks, that's not including the articles that went with them.

Punch? Hmmm ::taking a long look at Dave:: I don't think you spike the punch. Pass a cup, please. :D

Thanks for the advice. I'd spotted the 50 post requirement, I like that. :) I actually enjoying doing critiques, I don't do hatch jobs!

At the moment, I'm working on writing more fiction, getting back into the habit of writing, and finishing that project (I keep seeing an albatross when I mention that) ;)

I love my popcorn with oodles of butter and enough salt to taste, but that makes for an icky keyboard. But I can manage, thanks! :D

 I'm underqualified to teach sophomore English. I'm one of the sophomores. :tongue Although I think the class would say I probably teach more English than the teacher does...

::looks innocent:: If by "spike" you mean enhanced with natural herbs that broaden the mind of any writer, then yeah, guilty as charged. lol :snoopy:
