Hello, I am an old newbee. Found your water cooler by mistake, but glad I did. You guys seem to be a better place to spend some time. I have been writing for ever, and fortunate that I haven't needed to have books published for my living. I have been a boat Captain for the last 20 years and can't write on a boat, too many distractions. Own a Airstream that I wander around in when I can, and live on the river down in South Alabama. Only thing remarkable about living here is that it is quite little place and I have a tree house for a writing studio, and get to live here for what ever time I have left, so each day is precious to me, as I am sure is the same for you. So, lets do some scribbling. Charlie Redfield

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Hello Charlie, and welcome to AW. I love boats (some of my ancestors were boat people who sailed the rivers in Europe) and sailing the seas.

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

Hey lady, tried to contact you via your web site, but your people told my people that I missed three out of three times. I did enjoy seeing your webb site. Also are you having pretty good luck with the E books sales with Amazon? Got a friend has two on their list and says he is doing better than he was with an agent who couldn't see his books. OK, see you down the road. Charlie Redfield

OK, I left the message on the wrong site. Did check yours out however and liked your web-site. Nice, and when I get down the road another week or two will have to jump into the fray and do one for myslef. I think I would name it writing on the river with a crayon.

Hi Charlie,

Sounds like a great title for a novel. With colors running together in a river on the cover. The Crayola River... :) Sue

Welcome to the party, Charlie! Try the punch.

I couldn't build one to save my life, but I want a tree house, damn it! Where have ya traveled as a boat Captain? That sounds exciting!

Hey Charlie! I wouldn't mind a tree house either! That sounds just too cool. Where are all the places you traveled too by boat?
