Well, another new member checking in. As you may have guessed, my name is Sheila :tongue; I'm from North Carolina, where I have lived my entire life except for a brief period during and shortly after my USAF service. I have three sons, a dog and a cat (both also male--so I am the Queen!).

I love to write, began when I was very young--in fact, my second-favorite gift was a manual Royal typewriter I received when I was about 12. I've been a newspaper reporter for our local weekly, and edited a company newsletter, but fiction is my true love.

This post has gone on long enough for an intro, so I'll leave you to further newcomer posts.

Oh, and I like my popcorn hot, with lots of butter. And salt. Can't forget the salt. :D Unless it's kettlecorn.

Hi there Sheila, and welcome to the Cooler. I've lived my entire life in the same town (Dendermonde), where I was born. I do like to travel but I wouldn't want to live elsewhere.

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

You may want to make the text in your posts a little larger. When it's too tiny, it's very hard to read for some of us :)

Wow, step away to get some work done, and everybody drops in! :hi: right back at 'ya.

Let's see, some questions here, so the answer is......

I'm in the country, just north of a cute little town called Haw River (which is near Graham) in the central part of the state, about halfway between Greensboro and Raleigh/Durham. I like Wilmington, but haven't been there in a while.

I write mostly science fiction, and also like a bit of mystery/suspense, but I'll probably write most anything if I get a good idea. ;)

Sorry if my text was small, but I understand, as I can't see that great anymore myself--hope this is better. :D

PS If you see any spacing errors, I totally blame this morning's keyboard malfunction. I ruined the plug on mine and am reduced to using one with a faulty space bar. It also doesn't have a caps lock, but I think I can live without that.
