Howdy everyone!

I finally decided to register today instead of continuing to lurk around the forum. Let's see...I suppose this is the part where I introduce myself to the community... Well, I'm a med school student currently trying to pull off a 'Michael Crichton maneuver' (i.e. write/publish a novel while simultaneously attempting to attain an MD degree).

I'm from Minnesota but I'm currently living in the Chicagoland area. I'm Filipino/African-American. I have a dog named Chips, short for Potato Chips. I'm also a Nerdist fan and a girl gamer. If there are any first-person shooter fans and/or CoD lunatics out there - word up!

I think that's enough rambling from me for the day. I look forward to conversing with all of you in the future about writing and all sorts of randomness! :)

Welcome. Where in Chicago do you live? (I'm a Hyde Parker)

I live in Oak Park but I have a friend from undergrad who lives in Hyde Park. I spend a lot of time in your neck of the woods. There are 2 restaurants out your way that I like a lot - Siam and Rajun Cajun. :)

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Hi there Artemis_MD and welcome to the AW Water Cooler.

Back in the day I was a god of Duke Nukem and Unreal Tournament. I strode the virtual battlefields like an invincible titan and all who beheld me did despair. Nowadays age and fading reflexes mean I've hung up my rocket launchers for good, though I do enjoy the occasional mission on more realistic "soldier sims" like ARMA or Flashpoint.

Good luck with the writin' and doctorin'.

Kit

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.
