Hello everyone...
Name's Paige and I am working on my first novel. It is an urban fantasy/PNR. I am about 20 k words into it and so far I am having a blast.
What do I love? Books...Kresley Cole, Patricia Briggs, Lev Grossman, Nalini Singh...I could go on and on.
Movies...Such a variety. Anything from Disney to The Departed, to old nostalgic movies like Summer Stock, theres really no way to classify all that I like.
I am 75 % right brained and it shows. I love art and theater and pretty much anythig creative.

What I am looking for is beta readers who can give contructive and honest critiques on my work. Its still a wip...I am just finishing the first quarter of the book...so I am no where near ready for grammar corrections yet. Mainly I was someone unbiased to tell me if I am onto anything, look for plot hole, things that need explaining...you know fresh eyes
I am willing t reciprocate. My strengths include continuity, character development, and theme or tone.

Here is the very basic premise to my book ...
Mackenzie can sense the emotions of those around her, as if she were feeling them herself. She grew up her entire life raised by the council to believe that it would be catostrophic if she were ever to touch skin to skin. When she stops a mugging she discovers that her whole life has been a lie,and the council turns on her. With the help of another mysterious prisioner Knox, they break free and get to the bottom of a worldwide conspiracy, and Mac has to make choices about her loyalty.

If you think you might like to be a beta for me please feel freeto email me. cpaigemcd at yahoo dot com

Thanks guys....I hope to make some invaluable friends on this site.

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Welcome! Your book sounds fascinating, although unfortunately I don't have time to be a proper beta reader right now. Best of luck with your writing goals!

And btw, I'd love to be a beta tester, but I have only one email address, and several people I know do not recommend Yahoo. . . So I'll stick with my GMail, if you want to email me there. Just message me here for name

It is =) I've been here a little while, hopping from thread to thread, and advice is great, people are greater, and reading some of the stuff they have posted is awesome =D

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

Hi Paige/pandora1983 (which do you prefer, btw?)

Welcome to the AW water cooler. It sounds like you have a good premise there, (though to be honest it's not quite my thing). Best of luck with it.

Kit
