Hello all. I thought I would introduce myself and get the ball bouncing.
I am a wyoming born gal who cant ride a horse or write a good western, but hey we all have to have our faults. However I am better at writing paranormal storys and science fiction. Most of my day is spent reading schmatics and bridge plans, as I am trying to finish my degree as a Civil Engineer.
Lastly I have been trying to tidy up a manuscript I just finished. Now the hard part start.
Well thankyou for reading this, and I look forward to being a very active member on this board.
Cheers

Welcome.

(By the way, I worked for a major structural engineering firm until a few weeks ago. I mostly worked on buildings, but I have done some bridge work.)

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

You'll love AW! Especailly now that you're preparing your manuscript.

Good luck with your writing and your engineering careers. Sounds like you've got your plate full. Unfortunatly, a writing career takes a long time to build, so it's nice to have a good day job. I'm a fiction writer by night, nurse by day:)

AW will be a great tool as you research agents, or prepare for self publication.

Hi,

I spent several years as a railroad right of way engineer, then 25 years as a civil engineer in the homebuilding business in SoCal. the profession was good to me, but after retirement, I found I wish I found writing way back then.

Good luck with what ever you chose in life.
