Alright, please bear with me.

I lurk this forum quite a bit (playwriting) but haven't put in my two cents.. well, because I know nothing about playwriting.

A few weeks ago, I wrote a short (SHORT, as the title states - maybe 2-3 minutes) play, designed for 5 cast members in an extremely simple setting.

Essentially, what I'm wondering is this worth trying to get preformed (I thought it might be appropriate for an 'intermission' play or an 'intro-warmup play' or something of the like) or is this just plain silly. I know a full-length play is upwards / at 90 mins - I just kinda considered this the 'flash fiction' of plays. Obviously, it would have to be preformed with something else the company would be doing that night, cause there ain't a person out there who's going to pay a cent for a 3 minute play. I get it, don't worry.

Really, I just don't want to be that guy. 'That Guy' in the novel forums is the guy who stands up and says "I JUST WROTE A 2300 WORD NOVEL!!!" and we roll our eyes and say no, you've written a pamphlet.

Anyways, thanks for the tips - I have a feeling this is just too damn short, but I appreciate any and all feedback anyway.

Cheers!

There are a number of contests for short plays, the best known is probably the National Ten Minute Play Contest (ten minutes being the maximum length).

You probably would have a problem getting a three-minute play with five cast members performed unless there were some local theaters around who occasionally put on "a night of short plays".
