Hi everyone. My name is April and I'm a transplanted Canadian (Vancouver) living in California. My very first piece of fiction was written in the first grade when I forged a note from my mother in purple crayon telling the teacher I could stay inside at recess. At least that's what I thought I wrote. Clearly, I was born to be a writer.

Unfortunately I seem to be the only one of that opinion. Nothing published but much written. Writing doesn't pay my bills so I pretend to be an accountant during the day. I sort of wish I was pretending to be a rock star but oh well. The repetitiveness of accounting leaves a lot of time to daydream.

I look forward to getting to know everyone and reading everyone's work. And maybe even writing a bit. Maybe.

Welcome.

Cute anecdote about the first grade thing. Save it in the back of your mind for when you ever write a children's book.

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Hi April- Welcome to the AW! I also began writing at a very young age-I was 8 when I wrote my first poem. Loved the story about first grade by the way. You will find plenty of great people and helpful information here.
