Hello everyone,
I've been living in non-English-speaking countries for a while, and although the internet ) Absolute Write) can provide a writing community anywhere, I've still got into bad habits of pottering along alone and falling into slumps. I do always write, but sometimes my productivity is more Jack Torrance than Jessica Fletcher.
This year, I've moved to California, and it seems like a good time to get more active with my writing. Maybe even pro-active. Perhaps... finally join Absolute Write?
The tentative plan is: stop lurking, start posting; begin actually communicating with other writers, whether online or in person (I think there may be other writers here in LA); start critiquing and being critiqued; eventually move beyond stage one of the following:
1. write something
2. finish it
3. show it to someone, somewhere
I have about fifteen ostensibly-complete short stories, and the 3rd draft of a novel (which needs a complete overhaul, and the mere sight of which drives me to drink). Writing, improving and submitting the short stories is my current goal.
I'm looking forward to getting stuck in.
