I've been looking for a lively and diverse writing forum for quite a while now, and from what I've seen so far this place seems just that! I'm really keen to meet some other writers and exchange some feedback.

I'm currently writing a thriller/mystery novel that I really am hoping to get published. I'm trying very consciously to make it accessible, interesting, and a bit of a page turner, so it would be nice to get the opinions of different styles of reader.

I've also been writing a movie (and other arts) review blog for a while - more out of boredom than anything else, but it keeps me from getting bored of writing the same thing. http://drunkdetective.blogspot.com/

Welcome! I'm fairly new here myself, and so far I'm very impressed with the place.

Thanks everyone. Does anyone have any tips for the best way to find people who might be interested in giving me feedback? or entering in a feedback exchange perhaps?

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Once you get 50 posts you can post your work in SYW. There's also a thread for betas, if that's more of what you're looking for. But it's probably better to explore the forums for awhile first. Those first 50 posts aren't just going to show up! :)
Welcome :)

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.
