Hi. I found this site because I have been trying to seek feedback for my work, and despite the fact that I treat writing as a hobby, not a vocation (I am an accounting major, by the way), I still actually want people to read my stuff and give feedback on it.
I draw inspiration for my stories from current events, and I am currently working on a novella (perhaps it may become a novel) about the current civil war/unrest in Libya. The protagonist is a fourteen year old girl, her best friend goes missing during the first day of protests in Tripoli, and the novel revolves around trying to find her best friend with some other subplots thrown in.
I have a rough outline, one chapter completed, and another one the way. Given my current pace, it could be until next year when I finally finish, but at least writing a longer piece allows me to hone my craft.
