I've been reading these forums on and off for a while and decided to join.
I'm 28 years old and have been practicing the craft of writing for about 12 years. I have recently finished an urban dark fantasy novel. It's undergone a couple rounds of edits and I am currently line-editing the printed manuscript by hand. I hope to have it published someday. I'm also writing a psychological horror novel, the first draft of which is nearly complete. It needs an ending, and I also have to decide whether to shoot for a stand-alone book or turn it into a series.
I started a little side project, a supernatural drama that basically came about from my irritation at writers trying to turn monsters into sex symbols. I could go on, but that's a subject I'm a little passionate about and it would dominate this whole post if I got started.
Anyway, I'm glad to be here. Unfortunately I was not blessed enough to live in a place that understands my desire to be a writer. Among my friends and family most are apathetic, while some are downright hostile. I needed a place where I can talk about writing without feeling as if I have to apologize for it, so here I am.
I look forward to bouncing ideas off you guys.
