Just received this email from my University:
" Following its refurbishment, the University Library will be formally opened by His Royal Highness the Earl of Wessex KG KCVO on Friday 4 March 2011.
In preparation for the event the Library and some adjacent areas will close at 8pm on Thursday 3 March and will re-open at 3pm on Friday 4 March. Admission to the opening ceremony is by invitation only.
The computer labs will be available for use when the Library is closed and rooms 2A9 and 2A11, which are adjacent to the labs, will also be available from 7 to 10pm on Thursday 3 March. Further information on the electronic resources available will be provided nearer the time.
There will be some additional pressure on car parking places on 4 March and it would be most helpful if those staff or students who can park in locations other than near the Cottrell Building, or can use public transport instead of bringing a car to the campus on that day, would consider doing so.
I apologise for any inconvenience but hope that staff and students will understand how important it is formally to celebrate the new Library and for us to record our appreciation to the many donors who have made the project possible."
Oh the irony. They closed the Uni library for a year to do a 13 million pound refurb, then they close it again. Don't they normally have student 'models' around for official visits.
Or could it be something to do with this?:
