A magazine just notified me that they're going to publish one of my stories, and as part of the payment:

...our genius design guy will create a banner for you to display on your site that says your story is published in Needle and here’s how to get a copy.

Anyway, I don't have a site on which to display such a banner, but it seems a shame to waste such an opportunity. So I was thinking I could add a banner to my signature line here at AW. If I do that, what size would be best? I've seen some nice banners here but don't know anything about tech specifics. Is there a pixel height/width size that would be best? Any other specifics I could forward to the genius design guy.

Thanks.

From the Edit Signature page:

If you upload an image from your computer:
Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller). You can also do a linked images. I don't believe there is a size limit for a linked images (I'm not sure), but you would want something that's reasonable.

If that size limitation is not big enough for your banner, go to http://photobucket.com and get a free account, and upload it there. You can then link to that in your signature.

If it's too big and unweildly for a sig, ... oh, just go ahead and do it, we'll get to that if it's a problem... easier to ask forgiveness than permission, that sort of thing. :)
