Hello everyone,
My name is Amy and I've just completed my first YA Science Fiction and Fantasy novel. I do not have a degree in journalism but I am trying very hard to learn the in's and out's of this business. I have a BS in Dance Education with a minor in Theater. I am a high school dance and theater teacher who loves reading and writing in addition to my job. I'm currently querying for agents and immediately recognized this board as a means for support and advice. Is there a particular board that may be more suitable for me? I'm about as green as you can get in this profession so any advice or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

Hiya, Amy.

When you have a chance, check out the YA forum located here, which you might find helpful.

Best of luck to you.

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Welcome, Amy, as I am new to these forums as well. To start towards that 50, you can greet other new members, critique the work of others and/or join discussions. Degree in Journalism, with a BS in Dance Ed. and a Theater minor as well? On top of all that, you manage reading and writing as well. Amy, you are certainly an artist.

Good luck to you in the business! We all can use some...

Check the share your work section, you can see what others in your genre are writing about, and get ideas about how to improve your own writing.
