Greetings All,
My name is Matthew and I will consider myself unpublished. I found AW by stumbling across some of the posts from Google. Then I realized that I had once before been here, but did not stay. I've pondered joining writing forums for a while, and while my deliberations were quite for the favor, I never got around to joining one. Well, now I'm here, and I believe I've made a great choice. Out of the few forums I've seen, this community takes the cake. Now to introduce me further...
In Spring of 2008, I fell victim to the cunning facade of a publisher who offered to publish my poetry. I have long since seen through the fallacy presented as a promise to me. The publisher is well know among this community, and had I known what you all know about PA back then, I would not have given up my work to them. However, mistakes shape who we are and how we move further. I have completed a Novel of 90,028 words, and received my first rejection letter, Yay Me. A Form Rejection from Donald Maass. Though I believe I have the correct attitude for this business, for when I received it, I was much happier than one might expect. Strange, but in a way I already enjoy getting rejections. The acceptance will come when one least expects it.
Forgive me for the rambling, I like a good introduction. And as you all are not Agents that I am sending queries to, I don't believe there is a One-Page limit. My tastes in writing vary from time to time, and my motto is, "I will write anything that comes to me, with or without plot and move on from there." My recent Novel was in the Paranormal Genre, concerning Vampires and Fallen Angels. Now, I know you might say Vampires and Fallen Angels are overtly-used these days, but I say that most of them tend to follow a certain plot-path that has been added onto for ages. I'm not bragging, but I believe in the great saying:

"Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it."

With that being said, I hope everyone finds me at least a tiny bit interesting. I welcome Private Messages, as well as many many more replies. - C. S. Lewis
