Hi there. I'm Truul. I write science fiction and historical fiction, mostly. I've been looking for an online community of writers, and this seems to be a hospitable place to set up camp.

Bit of background: I'm a biomedical engineer by training, about to start on the road toward a Ph.D.

Look forward to getting acquainted with the folks around here.

Don't forget to read the Newbie's Guide (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66315) and enjoy AW

Members who want to start a thread in Share Your Work to have work critiqued need
50 posts. So take some time to read the stickies, greet fellow newbies, critique other members’
works, or join a discussion.

I have passes for the pool on the roof, only $10

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Hi there Truul, and welcome. I also write historical fiction, type The Three Musketeers or The Scarlet Pimpernel (= lots of adventure, action, romance, all set against a historical backdrop).

Hello and welcome, Truul. Is that your real name, or did you win it in a game of Scrabble?

Welcome... there isn't a better place for a writer than this place. And enjoy the pre-doctoral times because PhDs are mysteriously forbidden from using the word, "folks." (I dunno why, dawg, google that, but they don't. ;) )
