CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Talented authors are invited to submit magical fiction based on the world of Harry Potter for possible publication in a book tentatively entitled "Rivals of Harry Potter."

Entries must comply with strict guidelines to avoid copyright infringement on J.K. Rowling's books and to ensure compatibility with the Harry Potter mythos.

We are looking for high quality short stories and novellas set in the world of Harry Potter -- but using characters, locations, and situations of your own imagining.

Payment will be on a royalty basis -- I am budgeting 50% of the proceeds for author royalties.

Just assuming that since this forum is available to all AbsoluteWrite members we are all invited to submit? Is there a deadline for this project?
It sounds like an ambitious project--and very interesting for the Harry Potter fanatics among us. :)

In the Harry Potter Fanfiction websites, there are a lot of really amateur writers. I don't want to be inundated by lots of poor quality submissions. I am assuming that writers at Absolute Write are of a higher calibre and will read and follow my submission guidelines.

Accordingly, if you meet the criteria -- YES, you are invited to submit.

We only started this project a few weeks ago, and I only have 2 or 3 writers on board so far. Accordingly, we don't have deadlines YET.

When we get closer to actual publication, we will then have deadlines to meet. But for now, I'd much rather get QUALITY writing that follows my guidelines -- even if it takes some time.
