Okay I'm looking for titles that incorporate crime, but also has a strong relationship element.
I don't want chick-lit mixed with a crime story. I do like Val McDermid's Tony Hill novels though.
I'll explain. My novel is a kidnap story, but it also has a failing relationship close to the main plot.
Any recommendations?

Lisa Scottoline. Lisa Unger, especially Die For You. Umm... my stuff fits this category. :)
I'll keep thinking...

I was about to recommend our own HeyJude's work, actually. Her novel Broken is just what you're looking for.

A few more, gothic:
Still Missing, Chevy Stevens. I adored this book. Also about a kidnapping.
Heartstopper, Joy Fielding.
I'd Know You Anywhere, Laura Lippman.
Heartsick, by Chelsea Cain. Excellent. Also a kidnap novel, with a truly sick twist.
Let me know if you want more.

You could always try Stieg Larsson since the MC is such a playboy... ;)

Okay I'm looking for titles that incorporate crime, but also has a strong relationship element.
You could try JD Robb's (Nora Roberts) Eve Dallas series, starting with Naked in Death. Eve is a detective in New York about forty years in the future. She meets the enigmatic businessman Roarke in book one, when he's a suspect in the case she's investigating, and they have a relationship throughout the series.
One thing I particularly like is that they get married in book two (or maybe book three? it's been a while) so the majority of the series is about them working to build a life together despite their differences, not the will they/won't they business you often find.
Cheers.

Sorry, RJK (hey, you passed 3K posts!), we were being a bit silly. Broken's still on submission. Hopefully to be available in stores someday, somewhere... Thanks for asking. :)

I'm crestfallen - it was going to be my Christmas present from me to me.
