I am writing an article for an online writers site and am also pitching an article. If you have a book published or one that will be published in the next month or so, would you answer a question for me?
Why did you choose the genre you write in? In other words why do you write contemporary romance, cozy mysteries, fantasy, science fiction or whatever genre you do write ?
If you could keep your answer to no more than 150 words I'd appreciate it. Please include the title of your latest bookm publisher and a brief description, brief as in no more than two sentences.
There isn't any monetary compensation but at least you'll get a little visibility out of it.
You can email your info to me at authors @ brianhillanddeepower.com

Hi, Dee!
Latest book:
Title: Moon's Web
Authors: C.T. Adams & Cathy Clamp
Publisher: Tor Books (Tor Romance Imprint)
ISBN: 0-765-34914-0
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: August, 2005
Description: Shapeshifters hide in plain sight in today's world and fight to contain the criminal elements of their own kind. They struggle with the animal within themselves, while their human side tries to find love.
My co-author and I have chosen to write paranormal romance for several reasons. First, of all mass market fiction, the romance genre reaches over 48% of all readers. Second, the FF&P (fantasy, futuristic and paranormal) subgenre of romance gives limitless opportunity to a writer to explore themes of good and evil, societal norms and other strong issues in a way that can be both thought-provoking and entertaining. The "what if?" that many authors use as a starting point for a novel can be expanded exponentially to other worlds, future and past times, magic and scary things that go bump in the night. Many traditional fantasy readers are turning to paranormal romance as a way to step into another world where even the strange and unattractive can find love and a happily ever after. In an increasingly unstable world, paranormal romance truly proves that "love conquers all."

Title: New Frontier
Author: Pepper Espinoza
Publisher: Liquid Silver Books
Genre: Historical Erotica Romance
Description: Ida Stevens is waiting for her husband to return from California, when she finds an injured man near her home. She nurses him back to health as the crisp autumn turns into a cruel Utah winter.
Why: I chose to write erotica romances because I enjoy writing about the more intimate aspects of a relationship and exploring the way intimacy can reflect the dynamics in a relationship while affecting the dynamics. It's fun, it's a good release, and it requires a great deal of creativity (and research!).

Title: The Pacific Between (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?tag=raymondkwong-20&creative=331449&camp=15309&link_code=st1&path=ASIN/1933016329)
Authors: Raymond K. Wong (www.raymondwong.com)
Publisher: Behler Publications
ISBN: 1-933016-32-9
Genre: General Fiction/Mainstream
Release Date: January, 2006
Description: An American embarks on a transpacific journey in search of the truth about the relationship between his ex-lover and late father. Uncovering the deep-rooted deceptions creates more twists and turns to the past than an old Chinese alleyway in this nostaglic tale of love, death, and betrayal.
Why? I enjoy writing stories about relationships with some philosophy thrown in. The real world is so fascinating with all types of human stories, heartaches and triumphs. I also enjoy writing flawed characters. Commercially, mainstream stories about the human conditions can potentially reach a wide audience, touching the hearts of many people of all walks of life, whether they're men or women, 18 or 80, black or white. My stories also have a multicultural tilt to it with exotic locales and a diverse, multiracial cast.

Most recent novel: The Apocalypse Door (Tor)

Why I chose this genre: I'd been unaware that I had a choice.
