Battle: Los Angelos

So, my parents and I were going to see Skyline, but that's pretty much been panned by everyone ever, so we're staying home this weekend.

But then I find this

Firstly, Michelle Rodriguez is one of my favorite action movie actresses EVER.

I just love her in pretty much everything she's been in. Even Resident Evil. Bleck.

Secondly, I'm watching this and getting big huge Footfall flashbacks, as the aliens in Footfall kicked their invasion off with massed meteorite bombardments.

Still, looks better than Skyline.

I went to both panels at Comic Con... Skyline looked okay -- it's like a mix of Cloverfield + War of the Worlds... and since the guys who made it own their SFX house, I suspect there will be TONS of special effects until your eyes glaze over...

Battle: Los Angeles, however, looks intense. REALLY intense. It's like watching real embedded reporter footage of a war zone, except they're fighting aliens. It's much more realistic and brutal, and Rodgriguez and Ekhart are great in it.
