I have created an original action heroine and have an idea for a very short story (1000 words or less) in which to introduce her. I just need someone who can write the story in lean, gritty prose (ala hard-boiled crime novelists like Mickey Spillane, Lawrence Block, Donald Westlake, etc.) for the blog I'll be creating to serve as the character's official website.
While the story is a violent action tale set essentially in the real world, the character (though fully human) is heavily influenced by comic book and anime/manga heroines. Basically she's a very tough, very sexy girl with a very big gun which she's not afraid to use. There are elements of the story that are a bit over the top and unrealistic, so I'm looking for a writer unafraid to go full-on pulp/grindhouse, if you follow me (Should probably note here that this story is not erotica!).
I'm actually offering $10 USD to whoever writes the piece, but thought it best to place this in the Nonpaying Markets since $.01-.02 per word is such a low rate. Unfortunately, it's the best I can offer at this time. The upside is that the basic elements of the story are all in place already. The writer just has to retell it with some flair.
I do intend to retain all rights to the story and characters (serial, electronic, etc.), in perpetuity, as this is truly a work-for-hire assignment. However, the author will always be credited when the story is published anywhere, in any medium, in whole or in part, and I will never publish it under any other name or without an author's byline. Obviously, this will all be guaranteed in writing.
