What happens when 14 writers from 12 countries agree to collaborate and write a novel together? - "Global Novel", that's what.

GN is "a story filled with action, passion and gore, ...and peppered with plot turns and cliffhangers at times so improbable that the reader begins to suspect that the writers involved were trying to undermine each other's efforts"

Whilst it's nice that a bunch of people from different nations can get it together and work collaboratively....I think I'll give the book a miss. It sounds like it's going to be a very chaotic, messy read.

A bit like some reactions to the UN. "Hey it's cool you're all working together, but I'll pass and do whatever I want..."

Did I say something bad again?

Well, I'll admit, that's my reaction to the UN, and to this novel. After reading about it on the link, it sounds like all the other novels I've tried to read that were written by groups of writers. . .chaotic, uneven, and not worth the trouble. It seems to me that good writing seldom comes from gimmicks or committees.

I also admit the optimum number for a committee to make quick decisions is ten with nine absents.

So... Atlanta Nights then, but not as funny.
