Meeting With Editor

Applied for a freelance sports position with a local publishing group, Sent sample (mock) article and some previous, unpuplished work. Editor e-mailed back an hour later and we have a meeting tomorrow morning. I'm very excited.
Circulation is around 12-15,000.

Just an FYI: while any byline is helpful, if you want to make a career out of writing fiction, most editors (especially those from larger publications) will want to see clips in the same genre. It definitely can't hurt to get any experience, though.
