I've been running my blog for a while and would love for some comments on it.
Writing style
Graphics.
Layout.
Content Choices
etc
Basically let me know what you think of the whole thing in general.
I update 5 times a day with posts that vary in length but are usually around 200 words. I write the odd "feature" about once a week thats over 1000 words.
Thanks!

It seems to be fairly well organized and the layout, though plain, is ok. I'm not sure if the eyeglasses graphic really fits the blog, though.
I won't do content because it's not my cup of tea. Will leave that to someone geekier than me.

It looks pretty good to me, the style seems good and fits the topic. I am personally not a fan of the front page preview (with read more link)--especially for blogs where the stories tend to be short.
My personal suggestions would be to blend your adsense in by giving it a black background and white text, and a better tag line.
You writing style is fine but for a blog you could be a bit more personal and engaging and a bit less 'newsy'. IMHO of course.

This too. The writing is not drawing me in. But then again, maybe that's how it's supposed to be.

The layout is good. I don't care for the huge white space before your blog title begins. It's wasted space. A good geeky graphic there would be nice.

I think the blog looks really professional. I like the layout.
I agree about the writing style. It seems "newsy" -- to quote veinglory.
I found the content interesting, but ... is there anything that relates the 5 posts you put up a day? I looked through, but they all seemed to be chosen randomly.
This in combination with the writing style makes me wonder what your blog offers since you're not giving me your opinion on any of the things you write about.

I have a rule about the internet:
Never defend yourself online, you'll always end up looking like an idiot.
I am about to break that rule because I'm an idiot. Therefor, I should look like one.
So here be my thoughts:
1) I'm a journalist at heart and this blog was meant to be similar to a news paper. Bringing together tech related articles (you'll notice every post is something techy such as gadgets, the internet, and stuff with the odd post about NASA and Science because they are both geeky)
2) To be honest I'm thinking of throwing in more personality. I want to stay away from editorializing though. Every blogger on earth thinks they have an opinion when really it doesn't matter much.
3) I'm trying to add more "feature" stories. You can read them by clicking on the 'features' link on the right. These take a while to write so I can post them as often. I AM accepting features though if people want to submit them.

As far as tag lines go, how about "all the news that's fit for squints".

So I made a few changes. Would love to know what you think.

Hi kolemcrae,
I really like your blog. By nature I'm attracted to content blogs that have really short posts! Also, keeping a blog post to a minimum of 250-300 word range is really wise, just because most people hate reading anything on the computer for more than 2 1/2 min.
I liked the glasses logo you had before - now it looks like you changed it? I thought the glasses were very helpful in knowing what a reader should expect from the blog.
I also admire your focus, that you picked your subject matter and are sticking with it. A lot of blogs I've seen are all over the place, (mine included! which I'm thinking about changing) one post is about their recent family vacation and other posts are tips on overcoming writers block. Both are good, but I'd like them kept seperate!
Good job!
