I'm helping a friend put together some poetry submissions for magazines. I have experience sending out short stories and creative nonfiction, but I don't write poetry. Some of the magazines we're looking at give a limit for number of poems to send and some don't. For the ones that don't, is it okay to send multiple poems at once? Or should we only send one?

The limits we've encountered have been 4 poems for some magazines and 6 for others, and I'd like to send either 4 or 6 to the magazines that don't specify, but first want to make sure this isn't a faux pas...

Thanks!

Thanks!Unless a magazine specifically states that they're willing to take multiple submissions it's best to assume they only accept single submissions.

Sometimes a mag will say they accept multiple subs but won't specify how many. In those cases, 3 or 4 is probably your upper limit.

Hope that helps.
