View Full Version : Calling all newsletter writers

NeverEndingStory

I've searched the threads but haven't found what I'm looking for. I need to chat with some of you, if you're out there, about writing for newsletters. More specifically, creating the entire newsletter for a client versus simply contributing articles to an already established newsletter.

I have questions regarding template services, web hosting services, HTML, graphics; pay rates, contract language; the client-writer relationship as it pertains to writing relevant, industry-related content, and more.

Feel free to pop in here to start the dialogue, or PM me. Thanks!

I've done this for a few of my clients, and I have my own newsletter which I format in MailChimp (http://www.mailchimp.com/) It's free for smaller email lists, so that could be a good way to get your feet wet and experiment.

I did have one client who had very specific requests involving HTML (we were using a custom template in Campaigner, http://www.campaigner.com/, which isn't very user-friendly in my opinion), and eventually we parted ways because I felt he needed more of a designer than a copywriter. I generally bill by the hour for these types of projects, because it's tough to anticipate how many tweaks the client will want or how complicated their template will get.

Strange, I had subscribed to this thread but wasn't notified of your reply. Just seeing it now. Thanks for the feedback, and, btw, I PM'd you...
