I have been trying to find a good critique group where some of the writers do urban/erotica/romance, M/M romance, etc. Most of the groups I have found are contemporary fiction or literature groups. Needless to say...I was odd woman out (in the worst way!) Anyhow... I was wondering if anyone has had any success in finding critique groups on the web (so far I have not). Any hints? Thanks

Erotica SYW here on AW is the closest I've found to such a thing. It is difficult to find a place where people take the time to really look at the work, let alone possess the lexicon to recognize what needs improvement. Furthermore, conveying that to the author/artist (as many such communities overlap) is another step that requires more time & energy than many people want to invest in the process. There are many communities out there, but the nature of the 'critique' is often lacking. If you do find a place such as you describe, I would love to stumble upon it myself.

I have also worked with a couple of authors via the beta-readers wanted thread. If you are interested in giving critique, you can check in there and pick up the threads in ESYW. If you are interested in receiving, you can post an excerpt up and see if anyone nibbles?

Erotica SYW isn't a bad place to start.
I try and critique as often as I can. Post one or two pieces of your own, critique a few and see how things go.
The Beta forum is a good place too.

its a bit bigger than a group but it's got what your looking for. and the way it is set uo really helps to avoid any spammers and keeps people honest/friendly/interested:

CritiqueCircle is good, but we've had to fight to keep the erotica queue going. The writers you'll find in the queue are great.
