Ten minutes ago I got a call from the lady who runs the Shriekfest Film Fest screenplay competition and...

...my screenplay Wrath of God is in the finals! MY FRIST SCREENPLAY I'VE EVER SENT OFF TO ANYONE!

I must confess that I rushed the script a bit to get it into the competition in time and I've done some work on it since (the draft I sent off, I realized after sending it, had some minor grammar and spelling mistakes) and I've done another couple rewrites, but still...I don't even care if I win right now. I'm just thrilled as **** to know I'm a finalist!!!

Congrats. I'd say that if you get in the top 3 you might want to rethink your rewrite unless its just simple stuff like rearranging scenes or whatever.

What genre is this and was it free to enter? What is the prizes?

Genre: horror/psychological thriller

Entry fee was 35.00. Would have been less but I didn't learn about the contest until the last couple weeks before it, when a friend told me I should submit my script to it. So the 35.00 was the "late" entry fee.

Prizes include cash, product awards and trophies.:)

Wow congrats!! I hope you win!If not, being a finalist in those kinds of contests still give you major credits to put on your resume.
