View Full Version : XP to Windows 7
I just got my very first laptop. (:hooray:) My desktop runs XP, and the new one runs 7. Is there anyway to take some of the programs from the desktop to the laptop? When I tried to run the installation discs, they won't load. (XP and Vista compatible =/= 7 compatible?) The specific programs are PhotoImpact Pro 10 and Movie Magic Screenwriter (pre-2000).

The disk won't load? That doesn't sound quite right. Usually you can install the program but may run into problems with running it. I've never run into a disk not loading at all... well, except when my optical drive is making ugly sounds.
Try another disk or three. Confirm that your optical drive is working right. That's be my first step.

Or some idiotic security cockup, or godnose autoplay got disabled somehow. I know that Joe and Joan Average can't cope without autoplay, but have you tried exploring the CD? That would be my first step. See what if anything comes up if you can get in and double-click on something called setup.
