Linking words

Everyone does this, but I have no clue!

Whether in a message, blog, siggy, whatever...how do you make it so a 'word' is a link, rather than putting the actual link.

So if I have the word 'website', you could click it and go to my website. You know what I mean.

How is this done? Thanks!!!

If you use the fancy reply form with all the formatting buttons in a forum, you just highlight the word, click the link button/icon (teeny globe with a couple of chain links, here -- http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/images/editor/createlink.gif), and paste the URL (copied from your browser's URL bar up by the top of the window) and click OK. Blogs have those too. Blog comment forms might not.
