...and gives the money to the poor while telling them to have a nice day.

This makes me think two things:
1) He certainly had nobility on his acting, even though he stole the money from some people while giving to other people.
2) Is it bad I think more people like him gives me hope about the world?

I think Jesus and his disciples did something like this in one of Calvino's folktales. I doubt, however, they robbed a bank. It was probably something else.

Am I reading it wrong? Where does it say he gave the money to the poor? The article says:
He handed the bag of cash to astonished owner [of Harrisons sandwich bar] Clive Benneys, who was also his landlord, saying: “You are good people, help yourselves.”
It's certainly bizarre.

It didn't say anything about what happened to his Merry Men in the aftermath.

Something similar is what finally made the authorities take my dad's old man to the looney bin - he emptied his bank account and stood outside the bank handing out money, telling people that he was God.
Okay, maybe not quite the same. But similar. ;)

While I do think it's quite amusing, I'm failing to see why Pagan Goth is mentioned.
Is there ever a headline 'Committed Christian in smart casual clothes robs bank'?
'Jew in high heels holds up Post Office'
What has his religion and style of dress got to do with it? Apart from the news over here loves to jump on pagans to scare Middle England, most of whom don't give a crap, obviously.

Depends how smart the clothes are. Remember those robbers who got a lot of publicity just for wearing suits?
And I suspect the Jew who would, too, if he were male.

Not in Brighton he wouldn't :D

It was just a way to say something moral scare-like and then mentioning that he gave the money to the folks on a sandwhich store...

They're mentioning Pagans because it adds to the weird factor. But, here in the Upper Midwest, Pagans dress for work, just like everyone else, in down filled coats.
And, yes, some do wear high heels.
Clothing and theology aside, how did no one take this guy in between the robbery and the time he turned himself in? It sounds like there was plenty of time.
He walked a few yards to The Gildridge pub where he handed barmaid [removed] a £20 note for a bottle of beer and told her to keep the change.
After downing his drink he left and went to nearby Harrisons sandwich bar.
He handed the bag of cash to astonished owner [removed], who was also his landlord, saying: “You are good people, help yourselves.”

Oh yes, I do remember now. They had that as a headline before they caught them, presumably as an aid to identifying them, whereas this headline is after they knew who it was, so the clothing then becomes pretty irrelevant except for sensationalist reasons
Didn't mention the suits' religion though, did it ( even when they caught them)?

Xnoubis left the shop and promptly went to the police station in Grove Road where he confessed to the robbery.
At Hove Crown court yesterday, Xnoubis, of Glynde Road, Eastbourne, was jailed for three-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to robbery.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Does the UK have parole, where inmates get released early for good behavior?

Um, it's not only rich people who keep their money in banks.
And if it were, it wouldn't make stealing from them any better.
