Newbie looking for constructive criticism

I am a newbie to blogging and the AW forum and looking for some constructive criticism to improve my blog. My goal is to write funny stories and not take myself too seriously. I just started writing in it frequently enough to start a following. I am having fun learning about the blogging world, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone!

First reaction -- methinks you need a greater contrast between the background and the text. It bothered my eyes trying to read pale green on medium forest green and then medium peasoup green.
